A few weeks ago, a KPBS film crew came in to film a segment for their “Local Heroes” series. KPBS and Union Bank recognize a local hero every month in their commitment to celebrating diversity, and they selected our recently retired CEO of 26 years, Jill Borg Spitzer, in celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month. They asked me to be involved in the filming, and it was really a treat hear Jill speak about her time at JFS. Since I began here in January, Jill has been an inspiration and an endless source of knowledge and advice. I want to thank KPBS and Union Bank for this wonderful honor. Receiving the “Local Heroes” accolade demonstrates JFS’s profound impact on our community and the thousands of lives our organization helps every year!
